Child Care Teachers:
The Piedmont Family YMCA is looking for TWO warm, dedicated and responsible individuals to join its child care team. We are looking for a full-time child care teacher and a part-time child care teacher assistant.

A YMCA child care teacher plans and implements classroom curriculum, maintains children's records, communicates information to parents, and maintains a safe, healthy, warm, engaging, and attractive environment. Age-appropriate activities should provide for growth in skill, self-awareness, group relations, and character development. By conducting themselves in a caring, responsible, honest, and respectful manner, the Teacher is a role model for children and adults.

Required skills and qualifications for this position are:
1. Must have an Associate's degree, CDA, or higher in early childhood education.
2. Must be First Aid and CPR certified.
3. Must have skills in working with families.
4. Knowledge of group process-must agree to work in harmony with other staff.
5. Must be committed to the philosophy of the YMCA.

Camp Counselors:
Come Join the Piedmont Family YMCA Team in working with us for Summer Camp 2010 from June 14th-August 13th!!!

Experience:
A person at least 18 years of age who demonstartes maturity, good judgment, creativity and has had previous camp experience, or experience working with groups of children.

Requirements:
Ability to interact and communicate claerly with all program participants and fellow staff. Responsible for set-up and breakdown of all program supplies and equipment.

Essential Functions:

1. Lead and guide a group of 10-15 campers and work to ensure a positive and nurturing camp experience for each participant.
2. Guard campers' safety and welfare at all times.
3. Plan, organize and implement specific programs for the group.
4. Follow pre-planned schedule of activities and guide each group to their activity on time.
5. Work with the Campsite Director in planning weekly special events.
6. Attend all staff training sessions/meetings prior to and during the entire camp session.
7. Fully participate in any and all aspects of the daily camp rotation, including, but not limited to recreational swim, arts and crafts, and sports.
8. Plan and implement rainy day programming
9. Work cooperatively with other Counselors
10. Acquaint campers with rules, activities, daily schedule and traditions of camp.
11. Ensure that all equipment and supplies are properly used and maintained.
12. Keep daily attndance and perform head counts at each new activity.
13. Become First Aid and CPR certified.

**Must attend open interview on May 15th at 9:00 am**
**Orientation and Training week of June 14th-18th**
