The ability to provide an exceptional quality swimming program for all current and future swimmers requires that the Piedmont Family YMCA/CYAC Swim Team supplement program fees with additional revenues generated by fundraising activities. To assist families in meeting their fundraising obligations, CYAC operates the following programs listed below. Parents and swimmers can choose to participate in one or more of these programs, depending on which of these activities works best for them. As you participate in these fundraising activities, the family’s account will be credited the dollar amounts accumulated/earned as defined under each program.

2007-2008 Fundraising Obligation
Winter Option Only
$100 for 6-8; $150 for 9 - 10; $225 for 11 - 12; $225 for Senior 1; $300 for Senior 2.
$50 for second child in family; NO obligation for 3rd child in family.

Full Year Option
$100 for 6-8; $200 for 9 - 10; $300 for 11 - 12; $300 for Senior 1; $400 for Senior 2.
$50 for second in family; NO obligation for 3rd child in family.

Grocery Cards

Three Charlottesville area grocery stores offer fundraising opportunities for CYAC families. The participating grocery stores are Giant, Kroeger, and Food Lion. Kroeger gift cards can be purchased from the YMCA office or from Irene Jefferson with a $5 beginning balance. You can then recharge then for any amount you wish at a Kroger store and pay for that by cash, check or credit card.  Please note that you can use your Kroger gift card for gas purchases at Kroger, too.  Food Lion and Giant cards can be purchased in $100 increments from the YMCA office. Kroger and Food Lion gift cards yield a 5% return to your family's fundraising commitment; Giant gift cards yield 4%.  Payment for cards can be made using cash or check payable to YMCA/CYAC.   Please contract Program Coordinator: Irene Jefferson, by phone at 977-0385 or by email - irenejeffe@embarqmail.com

Apple Sales

You can order locally-grown apples during the Fall and half of the purchase price of $40 per bushel, will be applied to your family's fundraising commitment.  One bushel equals approximately 100 apples and you can split a bushel with another CYAC family.  For more information, contact CYAC parent Kelly Strickland.


Attractions Dining and Value Guide

CYAC will once again sell the Attractions coupon books.  Sale dates will be in September - October..  A book costs $25 and half the cost will be applied to your fundraising commitment.


 Poinsettias Sale (NEW!)

Friends of CYAC (donation)

Credits against your family fundraising obligations are given dollar-for-dollar for donations to the Piedmont Family YMCA and the CYAC Swim program that you solicit and collect. To help with your solicitation efforts a donations package describing how the community benefits from a successful YMCA and the YMCA Swimming program will be available. In most circumstancesthe donations will be tax-deductible. A completed donation report form must accompany the donation for proper credit to be applied.
