The Piedmont Family YMCA Childcare provides children with real experiences and exposure through a proven learning process. Our licensed, developmentally appropriate program is a self-initiated, hands-on discovery environment that allows children to explore and discover while thinking independently and solving problems.
A Good Place to Grow a Child 6:30 AM - 5:30 PM Monday - Friday Year round Ages: 2 years - Pre-Kindergarten
A child's early years provide a foundation for growth and development for the rest of his or her life. As children grow, they go through an orderly series of developmental stages that are basically the same for all children, but the rate at which children progress through these stages can vary dramatically from one child to another. Each child is an individual who develops at his or her own rate. Our program gives us the flexibility to accommodate these different rates through the use of learning centers.
These learning centers include:
- Blocks
- Dramatic play
- Manipulative Arts & Crafts
- Sand & Water
- Language & Listening
- Music
- Computers
- Outside Play and more
All materials within the learning centers are multicultural and free of gender bias. Posters, dress-up clothes, puzzles, books and music expose the children to the richness of the cultural diversity within the community.
For the times you can't be there yourself, the Piedmont Family supports your efforts to nurture your child's healthy development. Well-trained staff provides safe, affordable, high-quality care so you can peace of mind while you work to help your family succeed.
The Piedmont Family YMCA builds on children's natural desire to learn new things and become more self-reliant. Getting along with other children, sharing, taking turns and working in a group are a natural part of playing games or learning a new craft. The Y is an exciting and challenging place, helping preschoolers stretch their skills in mind and body. It is also a safe, comfortable place where children build positive relationships with caring adults.
No matter how many hours children spend in child care, family is the most important structure in their lives. At the Piedmont Family YMCA, good child care is good family care. Like all Y programs, child care is open to all, with financial aid available. Staff members partner with parents and other caregivers, working together to help kids grow in healthy, happy and strong.
The YMCA was one of the first national organization to take a stand in the critical areas of child abuse prevention. When parents drop off their children at the Piedmont Family YMCA, they are entrusting us with their greatest treasures. We take that responsibility very seriously. We encourage parents' visits at any time and solicit their input and full involvement in ensuring the safety of all children in our programs.
