TINY TOTS BASKETBALL

WHO Boys & Girls Ages 3-5
WHAT

This is a skill-developmen5 program designed to introduce children to the fundamentals of basketball while participating in fun skill exercises, relays, and game-like situations. Players will develop social skills, character and self-esteem while developing and learning the game of basketball. Each child will learn and improve in dribbling, shooting, passing, teamwork, sportsmanship,and skill-related games - but most of all, have FUN playing basketball. Coaches will teach the YMCA Core Values of Honesty, Caring, Respect and Responsibility.

Parents and children will run through drills and have fun together in this supportive, non-competitive environment.

SCOOTER BASKETBALL

WHO Boys & Girls Ages 5-8
WHAT Our transitional basketball league is a combination of our instructional basketball league and our full on recreation league. This league will combine skill-development with actual game like basketball. Our goal is to improve on the fundamentals of basketball while also gaining game like experience. Man-to-man is introduced and ball handling and shooting is emphasized. Children play on an appropriately-sized court. Each session will consist of 30 minutes of practice time followed up by 30 minutes of game time.
