YMCA Wrestling offers the opportunity for kids to develop more self-confidence and self-reliance than one might get from a team sport. Participants will learn the importance of individual one-on-one competition, while training with others and building life-long friendships. |

YMCA KARATE CLASSES: 2010

| WHAT |
The YMCA will be offering beginner classes for youth, families, and adults in Shotokan karate and self-defense. This is a fun, high-energy class that teaches coordination, confidence, and self control. Students learn and develop blocks, strikes, kicks, forms, and partner drills in a positive, non-contact environment. The instructors have practiced karate for over 20 years, and have taught karate at the University of Virginia for 12 years. |

The YMCA sponsors the Charlottesville Judo Academy and invites you to explore judo as a fun and exciting sport for the entire family! Parents and children are encouraged to work out together in a family-oriented setting taught by qualified instructors with over 35-years of teaching and coaching experience. Participants learn about judo through games and training exercises that are structured for safety, physical fitness, and fun! |
