 The CYAC Swim Team is dedicated to providing all swimmers in the greater Charlottesville/Albemarle area of Virginia a positive and healthy swimming experience. We are proud of the level of experience and knowledge of our coaches and we offer the levels of training and a flexible practice schedule to meet the individual needs of our swimmers. CYAC offers the greatest range of competitive swimming opportunities in the area, both USA Swimming and YMCA Swimming meets! In addition, fall, winter, spring and summer practice and meet schedules are available. We challenge all persons involved in the swim team program to demonstrate the YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility. We stress trying your best, achieving goals, team effort, sportsmanship, and having fun.
The YMCA offers financial assistance by confidential application to those who cannot afford the full cost of program fees and membership.

With more practice hours and earlier practice times, we will serve area swimmers even better during the upcoming season. Please view the 2010-11 Practice Groups and check out the 2010-11 Practice Schedule and Program Fees.
In addition, we will offer 3 clinics this fall: 6 - 10 Year Olds Stroke Clinic; "Take Your Mark" - our new pre-competitive program for 6 - 7 year olds; and the High School Prep Clinic.

Our 13 swimmers did a great job at Y-Nationals; check our their results. WOW!! - CYAC swimmers took home a significant number of the JSL's High-Point Awards: 9- 10 Girls: Elizabeth House; 9 - 10 Boys - Harry Saunders; 11-12 Girls - Madison Haise; 13-14 Girls - Elsa Strickland(runner-up); 13 - 14 Boys - Danny O-Dea; 15-18 Girls - Natalie Cronk; 15 - 18 Boys - Matt Arnold (runner-up). WAY TO GO - - all CYAC swimmers were shining brightly over the weekend at JSL Champs!

July 24: GOOD LUCK to CYAC's 13 swimmers who will be competing at the YMCA Long Course National Championships July 26 - 30 in College Park, MD: Seana Acker, Natalie Cronk, Tyler Gimple, Eli Holstege, Dania Jazouli, Marya Jazouli, Brodde Lamb, Jacob Lescault, Ryan McGhee, Emma McKinley, Katherine Nicholson, Chase Robbins, and Elsa Strickland. July 5: Congratulations to Brodde Lamb and Emma McKinley who have been selected to participate in the YMCA's National Altitude Training Camp at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs in August.
May 1, 2010: BEST WISHES to CYAC's graduating Seniors - Ryan McGhee and Katherine Nicholson. Ryan will attend the University of Mary Washington and Katherine will attend the University of Miami to continue their academic and swimming careers!
April 11, 2010: CONGRATULATIONS to CYAC's 2010 Y-Nationals Team members - Seana Acker, Eli Holstege, Dania Jazouli, Brodde Lamb, Ryan McGhee, Emma McKinley, and Katherine Nicholson - on a great job in Fort Lauderdale! 75% personal best times and 3 team records; Brodde - 200 IM 2:04.57 (10th place) and 200 fly 2:05.39 (13th place) and Emma - 1650 free 17:21.73 (21st place). And, they had "a TON of fun!" March 24, 2010: WOW - Congratulations to the 56 CYAC swimmers who combined for 8,374 laps - 209,350 yards - 126 miles at CYAC's Splash-for-Cash to benefit the American Cancer Society!
