The CYAC Swim Team is dedicated to providing all swimmers in the greater Charlottesville/Albemarle County area of Virginia a positive and healthy swimming experience. We are proud of the level of experience and knowledge of our coaches and we offer the levels of training and a flexible practice schedule to meet the individual needs of our swimmers. We offer the greatest range of competitive swimming opportunities in the area, both USA Swimming and YMCA Swimming meets. In addition, fall, winter, spring and summer practice and meet schedules are available.  As a YMCA program, we challenge all persons involved in the swim team program to demonstrate the YMCA core values: caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. We stress trying your best, achieving goals, team effort, sportsmanship, and having fun. CYAC is a YMCA swim team after all, and it shows. Everyone is welcomed to give us a try.

The YMCA offers financial assistance by confidential application to those who cannot afford the full cost of program fees and membership.

  April 10, 2009:  CONGRATULATIONS to CYAC swimmers Seana Acker, Madeline Bowe, Natalie Cronk, Brodde Lamb, and Emma McKinley for their terrific performances at YMCA Nationals!  They had 75% best times, 9 new National cuts, and 3 new AAAA times.  Special kudos to senior Madeline Bowe on a terrific last short course Nationals - she dropped 4 seconds in the 200 free, qualifying her for bonus consols and finished 21st.  Check out CYAC's times on the meet results page.  For full meet results and photos, go to:  www.ymcaswimminganddiving.org
  
  March 24, 2009:  CYAC'ers swam 7,637 laps - 106 miles - last evening during the Swim to Defeat ALS! THANK YOU and CONGRATULATIONS to all swimmers who made this event a big success!  We raised $4,003 for the ALS Association! Special THANKS to Anne Knox and Martha Fox for coordinating the event; to Tom Bowe of Take-it-Away Sandwich Shop for the delicious sandwiches; to CYAC parents for providing baked goods, treats, and beverages; and to UVA Swimmers and Madison House volunteers for counting laps!
